Glamping Safari Tents – Nightfall Wilderness Lodge

I have just had an amazing 3 week break camping around Queensland including the tropics, coastal and inland National Parks. It is so refreshing to be away from wi-fi, walking in rainforests, breathing clean air and swimming in waterfalls and rock pools.

If you fancy connecting to nature but in luxury accommodation and closer to home why not try Glamping in Safari Tents at Nightfall Wilderness Lodge in Lamington National Park.

The Owners, Steve and Heidi Ross were ‘hands on’ in building the resort with the help of their local community and Wwoofer volunteers (Willing Workers On Organic Farms). Some of their roles included planning the resort, project management, fabricating tent frames, sewing canvas, erecting the accommodation, creating the interiors {with some advice from myself with their earlier tents}, planting the organic food gardens, landscaping and rainforest regeneration and much more.

The tents are 62m sq in size, the walls and ceilings are made from canvas (and sewed by Heidi) and the flooring is wire-brushed old hardwood timber floor.

The bedding and linen is made from organic cotton, wool and all mixed together with recycled timber furniture and a mix of natural and eclectic rugs.

The kitchen island bench is very simple in style with open shelves, antique styled tapwear and made form recycled timber, whilst the dining room table is outside with nature.

The hand basins are cut from stone, the baths tubs are made from metal, the tapwear is a mix of reclaimed and character antique in style.

Together with these unique designed tents the resort also provides:

  • Chemical free accommodation
  • Provision of Bio degradable toiletries and cleaning agents
  • Organic & biodynamic food gardens
  • Impeccable sustainable credentials and advanced eco tourism certification

Just the perfect place for a healthy, back to nature, experience that you will not want to leave.

Have fun,
